¿Quiénes somos?

The Autonomous University of the West assumes bilingualism as a cultural and educational value that makes it possible for peoples of different languages to meet, as well as an essential condition for academic excellence. This approach is manifested in the internal administration of its faculties, in its academic programs, in its teaching staff, in its student population, and in its services. A linguistic profile for graduates is clearly established, and the curriculum includes both basic and elective foreign languages, promoting bilingualism, particularly Spanish-English.

The hiring of teaching, administrative and managerial staff carried out by the Institution takes into account the level of proficiency in a foreign language of the candidates. Bilingualism evaluation mechanisms are established for the University Community and there is a bilingualism committee responsible for promoting policies for their implementation and evaluation.

"The Autonomous University of the West will ensure the contribution to the development of bilingualism and the internationalization of its University Community."
